Government, Data and Engagement: Introducing Gov2.0 to Toronto
I’ve been tweeting about it for some time, and I just wanted to make a quick blog post on an upcoming event that I have been co-organizing for this upcoming Wednesday, in Toronto.
If you’ve ever been interested in getting involved in your government, in your community and having your voice heard, then come on out on Wednesday to the Government 2.0 Toronto Meet Up group‘s first event!
This is a big day for Toronto – bringing together all the wonders that the internet has brought us and putting it to use to help shape, change and influence our community in a positive, collaborative way. The best part of this? You don’t need a degree in politics, or a complete understanding of the system to be involved in this movement! I know, it sounds TOO good to be true. Imagine making your government work for you? I know – sounds insane. Just hear me, and our amazing speakers at the event, out on this.
The event is happening this Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 in Toronto, at the Member’s Lounge at Toronto City Hall, from 6:15 to 9:00 PM. More event and RSVP information can be found here:

I really hope to see you all there! I know, it might not be up EVERYONE’S alley, but, give it a try. You might be surprised at how much you like getting involved – even in the smallest of ways.
